Are We There Yet?

So here I am, sitting at my computer, wondering what to type. This is actually the second time I’ve sat down at the computer to type this blog, because the first yielded nothing. Why? Because I’m having trouble being motivated. It’s the end of school, we have like six weeks left, and most of us already know where we’re going to college. So at this point school seems pointless. I know however, that it isn’t. Education is still important, no matter how close you are to completing it. If anything, it’s more important because you’re at the end. Finish the race that has been set before you, don’t give up right before you break the tape.

As I reflect on my current state, I am reminded of two passages of the Bible. The first I actually discovered this morning as I was doing a devotional on Proverbs 13. Specifically, Proverbs 13:4 spoke to me, and it goes something like this: “The soul of the sluggard craves and gets nothing, while the soul of the diligent is richly supplied.” This verse is pretty easy to understand. Those who work hard get rewarded, while lazy people get nothing but problems. Simple right? Yet we forget this principle quite often. We forget the importance of hard work in our lives, and thus we also forget the rewards. Don’t.

The second verse that I though about comes from Colossians 3:23, which states, ” Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men” So often we forget why we exist. We forget why we live. We forget why we work. It’s all for the glory of God, and that’s why it’s so important that we continue to try so hard at whatever we do, even when we have the opportunity to slack. So press on. Not for you, but for our blessed Father in Heaven.

About Us

Our vision for silentnomore.wordpress.com is to inform society about the opinions of our generation. We have a desire to communicate the thoughts of our generation to those who do not believe in our successful future. We want to eliminate our “Whatever Generation” reputation, and prove to our elders that we our capable of voicing opinion.
As our class adds to this blog, we will display our beliefs and perspectives on the issues that affect our society. We hope to provide a means so internet surfers may learn how the students have a longing to improve society and reputation. We know that responsibility and constant betterment is necessary for success, and we hope to accomplish communicating this through silentnomore.wordpress.com.

Who are we? Many people say that we don’t care, that we just want everything for ourselves.  We are called the “Whatever Generation” because of people that just say “whatever” to anything that comes their way; that we are apathetic.  But not us, we refuse to be silent anymore.  With passion, diligence, and hard work, we will show other generations that this moment of silence in the past will soon fade away.  We will speak out to everyone to change the world.  We write to show other generations that we do care and that we can make a difference.  We once were silent, but we will be “Silent No More.”

Tell me something… How does this make you feel?

Consider the question…  is it not a question that is Oh, so common in our society?  If you were to ask me, i would have to say that the question kindles the embers of passion in my soul.  A question that begs for an answer of “personal truth” an answer that is personalized just for you.  And in our small (yet growing) community, we stand against the Post Modern thought.  We crave the cold hard truth.  We want to lead a way for a generation that doesn’t take delight in the things that are simply just given to us. But rather we want to work hard and get what we deserve.  Wewill reap the consequences of our actions, and let us accumulate a bounty of wealth in our quest to defy the flow of a hopeless Gen Whatev.

So Long Whatever

We write because others write. The majority of writers out there now are writing against the Christians, and for the “free thinkers.” We are sick of being the silent. Sick of being lost in “whatever.” And no longer will we be the minority who sit and take it. There are so many intelligent believers, but so few of them who write, so those few voices are lost in the crowd. Well no more silence. No more shall our voices be lost in the crowd. We write to be silent no more.

“All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.” ~ Edmund Burke

Not WHatEver!

This generation, our generation is labeled the “Whatever Generation.” But we as members of this generation do not want to be lumped into this apathetic, non-passionate category. Instead, we want to refute that by expressing our views and stating our opinions. We want to show the world that we are passionate people who are ready to regenerate the culture around us. For these reasons we will not remain silent no more!
